Webinar: OPA Insurance Update (2 CEUs)

OPA’s Director of Professional Affairs, Dr. Jim Broyles, will give the latest updates from the health insurance world.  Topics will include the No Surprise Act and its implications for psychologists, new place of service codes for telehealth, and the latest developments with telehealth coverage.  Opportunities for questions will be provided. Webinar provided via zoom with IT support from Nexigen.

Participants will be able to

• Describe their current obligation to provide a Good Faith Estimate under current federal law.
• Identify the correct POS (Place of Service) code to use when billing telehealth.
• Summarize likely trends for insurance coverage for telehealth services in the future.

Jim Broyles, Ph.D. is Director of Professional Affairs for the Ohio Psychological Association.  His primary responsibilities in that role include advocating on behalf of members with insurance organizations as well as providing member support for insurance issues and questions.  Jim is a longstanding member of the Ohio Psychological Association, and has served as OPA President, Finance Officer, Insurance Committee Chair, Marketing Task Force Chair, and LGBT Committee chair.  He currently co-chairs OPA’s Leadership Development Academy.  Dr. Broyles earned his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University, and maintains a private practice in Grove City, Ohio.  He specializes in working with children, adolescents, families, and LGBT issues.
