Introducing the MMPI-3 Webinar

Program Description: In this program, attendees will be introduced to the MMPI-3. The presenter will review the rationale and development of the MMPI-3, focusing on how it built upon the MMPI-2 Restructured Form. This workshop will review each of the 52 scales on the MMPI-3 and the updated norms that were collected for the MMPI3. The workshop will cover the scoring and report options available on the MMPI-3. Finally, the presenter will cover the interpretation framework for the MMPI-3, which will be demonstrated in several case examples. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback. Some familiarity with the MMPI-2-RF will be helpful, but not absolutely necessary, to benefit from this workshop.

Program Objectives: After completing this workshop, participants will:

  1. Understand the rational and process utilized in the development of the MMPI-3
  2. Understand the updated norms on the MMPI-3 and how they impact the resulting test
  3. Develop familiarity with all of the MMPI-3 scales
  4. Understand the MMPI-3 scoring and report options
  5. Understand and be able to implement the interpretative framework for the MMPI-3

Dustin B. Wygant is a Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training for the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program at Eastern Kentucky University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio prior to completing his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Dr. Wygant is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Personality Assessment. Dr. Wygant’s primary research interests include the conceptualization of the psychopathic personality and the DSM-5 model of personality disorders. Other research interests include the detection of malingering as well as the use of personality assessment in forensic and medical settings. He has authored over 35 MMPI-related publications, including a 2018 book on forensic uses of the MMPI-2-RF.
