Objectives / Highlights for Training:
- Distinguishing relationship work from individual work
- Contra-indications for couples work
- Ethical considerations in treating relational distress with an individual partner
- Options for including a partner to support an individual client’s therapeutic work
- Confidently referring to and/or collaborating care with Couples, Marriage, Discernment, or Sex Therapy specialists
Kande Koogle Milano’s areas of specialization include: EMDR, Trauma & Adoption Competent approaches to mental health and family dynamics; Couples, Discernment and Pre-Marital Counseling. Gottman Method training includes Levels 1 & 2, and the treatment of couples dealing with addiction, infidelity and PTSD. The Gottman Method of couples therapy provides the underlying foundation of Kande’s work. She supplements their evidence-based approach with insights from other respected and well-established relationship counseling frameworks, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Discernment Counseling, the work of Terry Real and the Relational Life Institute, and Esther Perel.
